Community Projects!

We wanted to share with you a few of the community projects that we are supporting at The Fabric Cupboard at this time! If you would like to sew, donate or have any questions, send along a message or give us a call:

#1 – Victoria’s Quilts yard sale table – drop off gently used quilt books or any other items (yarn, novels, batting pieces, notions, patterns, etc.) and we place them on our VQ table. Other quilters stop by to check out the table, choose a few items, make a donation and we pass those funds along to VQ for them to use to purchase items they are in need of. We have had this table at the shop for around 10 years and there are always a couple of good items on there for you to choose from!

#2 – We accept batting/fabric scraps that are used for SPCA pet beds. Save your scraps and drop them off at the shop anytime – we pass them along and a local gal makes beds and donates them to the SPCA!

#3 – Victoria’s Quilts! Jane has an update for us – 847 quilts were delivered in New Brunswick for 2022 – amazing! We donate the Friendship Center space for the VQ group to meet every second week and we also accept fabric donations to pass along to the group. VQ provides handmade quilts to people living with cancer and by providing these quilts, they hope to bring comfort and the knowledge that they are not alone. #4 – Our new addition – Quilts of Valour! The Q of V group had their first sew day in November and they are really getting things moving forward – we couldn’t be happier to donate our Friendship Center space once a month for them to sew in. Save the date – Vanessa’s next sew day will be February 15th from 10:00am to 3:00pm and everyone is welcome. There have been 4 quilt presentations so far with one more this coming weekend. There are over 200 nominees on the official list for NB – let’s help bring this down to zero! For more information, visit https://www.quiltsofvalour.ca
