Classes!

Woo hoo – we are so happy to announce four Saturday classes that will be held in our Friendship Center!

Saturday, February 11th – Shamrock Table Runner Class!  Dress up your table with this festive, scrappy runner.  Scrappy 9-patch blocks are made into a fusible appliquéd heart combined with a pieced chain block in the middle.  Sashing and a border complete this stunning St. Patrick’s Day runner.

Saturday, March 4th – Chenille Pillow Class!  Chenille is a technique that produces a soft, snuggly fabric and the more it’s washed, the cosier it becomes.  Easy, fun and beginner friendly – you will also learn how to do Shadow Chenille which produces a unique secondary pattern.

Saturday, April 1st – Rag Bag Class!  This easy and fun ragged bag measures about 15″ x 20″ and 4″ deep.  The bag has two roomy outside pockets and your handles are made to fit you.  This bag is made using the rag quilt method, where all the seams are on the outside!

Saturday, May 6th – Dresden Plate Pillow or Quilt Class!  The Dresden Plate quilt pattern was one of the most popular quilts made during the 1920s and 30s.  Simplified using the Dresden Quilting Ruler,  you will make a beautiful Dresden quilt with this ruler. Plates form the wreath which can then be machine or hand stitched onto the background fabric.  The centre piece is fused on and the edges are also finished by machine – you will learn SO many great techniques in this class!

Classes are from 10:30 to 3:00,  the class fee is $30 and this includes your pattern!  Give the shop a call at 855-3800 to reserve your spot.  These classes are fun, educational and a wonderful way to spend a Saturday with quilting friends!
